Location:

Brevard County is located on Florida's Space Coast with over 70 miles of beaches. Florida's Space Coast runs from just south of Ormond Beach to Vero Beach. It is easily accessible by Interstate 95 and Highway A1A

Brevard County Public Schools proudly boasts 100% accredited schools.  We have the highest % of national board certified teachers amount the ten largest school districts in the nation. We are #1 among Florida's ten largest school districts in our statewide FCAT testing in reading and math.  Brevard County has a vibrant economy combining high-tech and other industry with tourism, agriculture, and other service businesses and organizations

We offer teachers in critical shortage areas a sign on bonus of an additional $1,000 on their first year's salary, as well as relocation expenses to relocate to Brevard County.  We also offer a free two-night hotel stay for a teacher to come in for a specific job interview; they are responsible for their transportation and meals.   


 

Brevard County Induction Program:

The Brevard County Induction Program offers year round Professional Development to support, stimulate, and encourage our teachers. Our goal is not only to encourage our new teachers, but we also work hard to retain our veteran teachers. Through professional development, teachers can continue to strive for teacher quality and student achievement.

Brevard County has professional growth opportunities throughout the year. The Induction Program offers new teachers the opportunity to attend the New Teachers Academy for three (3) days prior to school starting and one-day workshops during the first month of the school year. The main focus of the one-day in-service is to provide effective classroom management techniques for new teachers as well as strategies for setting up classroom procedures and routines.


Recreation:

From the Canaveral National Seashore Park in the north of the county to Sebastian Inlet State Park at the southern tip of the county, there are miles and miles of sandy beaches for recreation. The Park and Recreation Department and various municipalities, along with private business concerns, operate recreational facilities such as golf courses, racquetball courts, ball fields, skateboard parks, an ice-skating rink, beaches and lakeside parks. Additionally, world famous Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios and other popular attractions are within one and one-half hours driving time.
