Mission Statement:
The
Burlington-Edison School District is committed to providing quality learning
opportunities for all students to become productive members of a changing
community.
Location:
Burlington,
Washington, in the beautiful Skagit Valley, approximately 65 miles north of
Seattle.
Our valley
encompasses a myriad of landscapes including beaches, mountains, and some of the
most fertile farmland in North America.

Special Features of District:
We have five K-8 elementary
schools, three of which are new buildings built within the past 11 years. Our
newest K-8 elementary building is our largest, also the largest K-8 in the
state, with approximately 650 students. Total K-8 student enrollment is
approximately 2520 students. Our district is implementing a Two Way Enrichment
Bilingual Spanish Program at one of our K-8 elementary buildings starting with
the 2004-2005 school year and is committed to hiring highly-qualified bilingual
Spanish teachers.
We have one 9-12 grades high
school with an enrollment of approximately 1000 students. New to the district
this school year, is our Alternative School for students Grades 9-12. Our
district is fortunate to have a very supportive community, parent groups, and
