The mission of the Grass Lake Community Schools is to provide a quality learning environment which will empower all students to meet their individual needs, discover their potential, and gain essential skills that will enable them to become responsible, contributing citizens of our world.

Location:
Grass Lake Community Schools is located in the Village of Grass Lake, a small community off of Interstate 94 between Ann Arbor and Jackson, Michigan.

Features of District: We have three buildings. We just opened a new high school building this year and divided the students into three buildings instead of two. George Long Elementary has students in grades K-4. Grass Lake Middle School has students in grades 5-8. Grass Lake High School has students in grades 9-12. Total enrollment is around 1100, but we are growing, probably because of the community's proximity to Jackson and Ann Arbor. Families are building homes in Grass Lake because we are a smaller community with a reputation for educational excellence. Special Features of District: Grass Lake is Jackson county's fastest growing community. Located between the cities of Ann Arbor and Jackson, Michigan, it is strategically placed with easy access to the Detroit area businesses and Metropolitan airport, the University of Michigan, Michigan State university, Spring Arbor University and several other colleges and community colleges. Nearby are numerous golf courses, Michigan International Speedway and hospitals and health care centers. Grass Lake is home of the Michigan Center for the Photographic Arts and is designated as a "Cool City Neighborhood." Township residents live amidst farmlands, woodlands and lakes, thus making it a desirable community to raise a family or enjoy life in a rural setting. Recently, the township has experienced a rapid growth of residential developments. It recently completed the building of a new high school facility with state of the art classrooms and technology, along with an entire new athletic complex to support the influx of new families.
