Mission Statement:

The Oakland Teaching Fellows is committed to raising student achievement in Oakland by attracting outstanding individuals to teach in the classrooms where they are most needed.

Program Information:

The Oakland Teaching Fellows is a highly selective, innovative path to becoming a teacher and making a difference in the Oakland public schools where you are most needed.

We seek the most talented and accomplished among you to teach science, math or special education in our city’s challenging classrooms. Neither prior coursework in education nor past teaching experience is required. Fellows will attend a rigorous Training Institute this summer and begin teaching full-time while earning a California Teaching Credential in the fall.
