Who We Are:
Milaca Schools are recognized for
providing learning opportunities to motivate all students to attain their
highest potential. Our students have positive self esteem and function with
effectiveness in the world.
Achievement of each student is measured on an ongoing basis in the areas of
academics, interpersonal communications, higher thinking, social, personal and
work skills.
The environment within the school
nurtures emotional, physical and mental health thereby enhancing the quality of
life in our community. Learning is considered a life long process by everyone.
As a result, the community is involved in, confident and proud of its schools.
Location:
The facility, which
lies along the Rum River and Highway 23 in Milaca, boasts additions in 1993 and
1998 which include a new classroom wing, expanded cafeteria and kitchen space, a
large athletic complex of football fields, an all weather track and
baseball/softball fields. The Media Centers in both the elementary and the high
school have been remodeled and updated. Seven basketball courts can be found
within the building as well as a swimming pool and full array of locker rooms
with handicapped accessibility.

School Profile:
District #912
serves 1,900 students in grades Pre K- 12. Milaca Schools employ specialists in
the areas of physical education, music, art, special education, gifted,
counseling and social work. Vocational education includes building trades,
business education, home economics and agriculture for both school age students
and adults. The Milaca schools are members of the East Central Minnesota
Educational Cable Coop and provide course offerings of German, Ojibway, French,
Spanish, and post secondary credit bearing classes through interactive cable
television.
The professional
staff numbers about 125 with about 8 administrators and 90 support staff.
